Happy Friday! First of all, I want to say thank you for all of the positive feedback and comments I received from my Glitter Guide feature this week. You all are the.best. I was so honored to be included on GG, and what fun it was to give you all a peek inside my apartment! (Thank you also to Kelsey Foster for her amazing photography!)
Secondly, I have received quite a few emails regarding the sources for some of my furniture and accessories. Rather than try to answer each email individually, I thought it might be easier to just include all of the credits for each photo right here. Sound good? (Don’t stop emailing me though. I love to hear from you all!)
Let’s start with that vase up there. It’s Waylande Gregory from Forty Five Ten.

Here’s the aforementioned Style Notes post! It’s one of my favorites yet – and not just because her answers are so spot on (“I’ll never part with my nail polish collection”), but because Molly Miller is genuinely one of my favorite people. If you read A Piece of Toast (the blog she pens with her equally adorable sister, Sally), then you probably already know that Molly is a down to earth, hilarious, and super sweet girl. She’s just one of those people that makes you feel totally comfortable and at ease. (Not to mention, she’s an expert photographer. She’s responsible for the majority of the snaps you see on this blog.) Needless to say, we’ve become fast friends over the past year. I’m excited that she’s sharing a little bit about herself here. Check it out and the head over here to get more TOAST.

Luella & June still isn’t working quite right, but the good news is that my Glitter Guide feature is up today! I’m so thrilled to be included in their Style At Home section. You can check out my apartment and all sorts of fun details. (It’s the last time you’ll see it as is. My fiancé and I just found a place to live after the wedding, and I’m so excited to start decorating from a clean slate! In other words, it’s time to tone down the pink. ) Head over to the feature right here.

Well, I had a fab post planned for today (a “Style Notes” that I’ve so been looking forward to sharing with you all), but the blog doesn’t seem to want to cooperate this morning. Normally, I wouldn’t bore you with the details, but I’m making an exception today in the hopes that someone out there will know what’s up and tell me how to fix it. Here’s the deal: Every time I try to add a new media, WordPress is telling giving me an HTTP error or Internal Server Error message. Any clue? Help! I’ve got people working on it, but I haven’t seen any changes as of yet. So for today, Luella & June is down. Cross your fingers that we’ll be back up and running tomorrow.

During a quick visit to NYC last month, I had a chance to stop in to the J.Crew Collection boutique. The two-story store, located on the Upper East Side, was everything I had imagined. You can find all of the brand’s “Collection” pieces – and so much more! (There’s an entire room downstairs dedicated to cashmere! Every color under the sun.) I was most excited, however, to spot this little sequin shift in my size. I had been eyeing it online for a couple of weeks but just couldn’t bring myself to make the purchase. One quick try-on sealed the deal. It’s the perfect everything - color, length, and pattern. I paired it with these polka dot tights to a cocktail party the other night, but I’ve also been wearing it as a tunic over my leather pants for a more casual look. Who can say no to a pink sequin shift, after all?

This week seemed to fly by, don’t you think? I started my week off with a whirlwind 24-hour trip to NYC to work on a few wedding details (more to come on that!) and then spent the rest of it holed up in the office trying to get our February issue out the door. Since I really haven’t spent that much time at home in the last weeks, I’ve sort of put the organization efforts on hold (2013 resolutions can start whenever I want, right?). I’m embarrassed to say that my yet-to-be-unpacked suitcase from Harbour Island is still sitting the middle of my living room floor, and those piles of mail I mentioned last week are still just piles. Maybe next week I will get my act together? Let’s hope. TGIF.
For your weekend perusal:
- Sale alert: Have you made your way to Shopbop’s latest sale? It’s not to be missed, let me tell you. With markdown up to 70% off, you’ll find all sorts of good things – like this fab Rag & Bone blazer. Or any of these statement necklaces.
- A blushing bride: Though my wedding dress will be the traditional white, I’m all for a little color switch. Take a look at this stunning blush wedding gown. It’s so dreamy and romantic!
- A handwritten helper: Post-Christmas activity? Thank-you letter writing. We could use a little inspiration here – especially after the 20th note. Derek Blasberg is here to help. Take a look at his new “Handwritten Letter Helper.” It’s an easy guide through the process.
- Make it happen: January isn’t over. There’s still plenty of time to make those 2013 resolutions. Check out Whitney English’s “101″ list for a little motivation. #43 – I’m looking at you.

Just another quick peek at my Harbour Island trip. The question of the trip was “if you had a house in Harbour Island, what color would it be?” With so many adorable little houses – each one in a different shade of the rainbow – we had plenty of inspiration. What color would you choose?
Our fishing boat
The mom and sister (aren’t they cute?).
I don’t have a clue who “Dake” is, but I really like his office sign. I would like a my own pineapple sign.
New Year’s Eve decor done beach style
One of my favorite houses. If I had a house in Harbour Island, this salmon pink shade might be it.
The cutest little ice cream and candy shop right off the beach. The ice cream is homemade and exactly what a warm day at the beach calls for.

It’s been surprisingly cold in Dallas for the last few weeks. (It’s always a surprise here when it manages to stay cool for longer than just a couple of days.) This kind of weather calls for cozy separates – in this case, in the form of a boyfriend style buffalo-check shirt and a super soft cashmere sweater. And, of course, my ever present Minnetonka moccasins. Do you all have a pair of these? I’ve been through quite a few. They’re my favorite winter slip-on. (In the summertime, I actually pull out the same shoe buy in a white leather version.) They’re so comfortable and manage to keep my feet somewhat warm when I’m not in the mood for boots.
