Though I love all the big pieces of furniture (my couch, my desk) in my place, it’s really the little details that I end up loving the most. My bar area is one of those details. It’s teeny-tiny and there’s not exactly a whole lot of room to actually make the drinks on it, but it gets the job done. It holds some of my very favorite things – like that vintage pineapple ice bucket, for example – and the necessary entertaining essentials. My apartment is definitely on the small side, so I can’t exactly have a raging party here, but it’s important that this little cart stay stocked for those smaller dinner parties and unexpected guests. After all, you never know when you might need to mix a cocktail or two. Here’s a peek at my bar as well as a round up of some of my favorite bar essentials for you all to scroll through. Cheers!

Though the weather hasn’t really changed (we’re still above 90 degrees here), the calendar tells me it’s officially fall. A few of my favorite things about the new season: football games, pumpkin everything, and, of course, the opportunity to dress for cooler weather. In this case, it’s been more of a balance to dress for fall, but still manage to survive the heat. That means lightweight tops like this Thakoon Addition one that I picked up from Five & Ten (Dallasites – have you been in there lately? So many cute things!) a few weeks ago and my leather pants – my favorite item to come out of hibernation. The good news is that this 90 degree weather isn’t supposed to stick around for much longer. It looks like the temperatures are going to drop a little bit this weekend!

With today marking the official last day of summer, I’ve been thinking about those items that need to transition back into (and out of) my closet for the new season. While I’ll certainly retire my white denim shorts and a pair of gladiator sandals or two, a lot of things will stay exactly where they are and transition right into the fall and winter season. This skirt is one of those items. I’ve had it for over three years; and, no matter what season it is, this skirt consistently maintains a spot near the very front of my closet. In the summer, I’ll wear it with a white tee and sandals; and during the cooler months, I pair it with black opaque tights (these are my favorites) and a cozy sweater or my leather jacket. It adds that much needed pop of color to those dreary winter days. What items do you keep around all year long? I hope you all have a happy weekend!

From quick jaunts to Marfa to fashion week in New York to a wedding trip in Napa, I’ve been quite the traveler as of late. Although all three locations required very different packing (cocktail dresses in NYC and jean shorts in Marfa), there was one item that made its way into my suitcase all three times: my No. 1 Clarity Pouch. When the ladies over at TRUFFLE sent this to me this summer (thank you!), I had no idea just how much I would be using it.  The bag’s simple, clear design is well-made and lends itself to a variety of different uses. The best of which is that it passes as a clear bag through airport security. That’s right. Trade your Ziplocs in for one of these. Not only is the Truffle pouch much cuter, but – here’s a little secret – you can fit a lot more into one of these than you can a Ziploc. There’s a million other uses for it, too – receipt holder, waterproof bag for beach essentials, and it also works as a great organizer within the black hole that is my purse. It really is quite the multi-tasking little pouch!

The good news is that TRUFFLE is offering Luella & June readers a 20% discount off your purchase! Just enter the code LUELLA20 at checkout. But hurry! The offer ends this Sunday.

(In my No. 1 Clarity Pouch: EltaMD Clear Sunscreen // Kerastase shampoo // Michael Kors Leg Shine // Fresh Soy Face Cleanser)

Charm & Chain is one of my very favorite online jewelry destinations. It’s a one-stop shop for some of the coolest pieces from a variety of designers – everything from Dannijo’s statement sparklers to the classic, understated pieces from Sarah Chloe.  You can imagine my excitement when they approached me to do a blog post for them featuring my fall wish list. Head over there to check out all my favorites.

Topshop Peplum Dress // Aquazzura Sandals // Ray-Ban Aviator Sunglasses // Mayle Clutch

The peplum has been popping up everywhere – dresses, tops, and even cozy sweaters. Initially, I was a bit skeptical about the peplum. It felt a little too trendy, and I honestly wasn’t sure if it would be very flattering. However, I decided to give it a try with this Topshop dress (it’s under $100, so I didn’t feel like I was breaking the bank for this trial run), and I’ve totally changed my mind. Just like that. One dress, and now I’m peplum-obsessed. (I purchased this ASOS top last week, and I’ve got this dress on my wish list.)  They’re surprisingly flattering – especially when paired with a more fitted silhouette – and they add a fun, feminine detail to any look.
