HAPPY WEEKEND

TGIF. I can’t believe this week is over. Between the engagement excitement (we set a date!) and all of the new job happenings, this week has just flown by. I have a feeling that the rest of the year is going to feel like that as well. While I’m hoping to get a little bit of rest this weekend, I know it’s going to be a busy (but fun!) one. I’m headed to Blogshop for the next two days. Bri Emery is one talented lady, and I can’t wait to see what photoshop lessons she has in store for us. That’s all I’ve got for you all this week. There’s something about a great button-down shirt that I just can’t seem to resist. Whether it’s a silk Equipment blouse, a crisp white button-down, or a plaid version like this one from Madewell, the borrowed-from-the-boys top is a style staple of mine. This particular top caught my eye while shopping a few weeks ago. It’s super comfy, and the color palette works for all seasons. I’ve been pairing it with white jeans or my denim shorts lately; but, come fall, this top will make a seamless transition and I’ll be layering it under sweaters and coats.

THE (SURPRISE) WEEKEND

I left on Friday morning with a completely different post scheduled for this morning, but I just had to share the good news with you all. This past weekend I left for what I thought was simply a weekend vacay  to my boyfriend’s home in West Texas. Little did I know that it would be so much more than that. We’re engaged! He popped the question early on Saturday morning. I couldn’t be happier. It was the most perfect (and happiest!) weekend. So many things to look forward to! (I promise this blog will not turn into a wedding blog…however, I can’t make any promises with my Pinterest.)

Plenty of new things going on right now. Did I mention that I start my new job this morning? Wish me luck. Happy Monday!

 

MY SPARKLY SUPERGAS

Oh, Superga… how I love you. If you’ve been around this blog for a little while then you know that I’m a huge fan of Superga sneakers. They’re the ultimate combination of comfort and style. When I simply can’t bear another minute in heels, these are my answer. These aren’t just for casual Saturdays either. I wear them with nearly everything (they’re an excellent substitute to heels for all-night dance parties). While I love all of the colors – they come in every hue under the sun! –  my gold glitter pair is, of course, my favorite. After all, who doesn’t need a pair of sparkly sneakers?
