POINTED TOES

As you all know, ballet flats are a staple of mine. I wear them at least four times a week, and my collection ranges from classic black to neons to printed pairs like these. However, they all have one thing in common: a round toe. No pointed toes here. When I spotted this Rebecca Taylor pair yesterday, I realized that it might be time to invest in a pair of points. It’s a classic shape, and it feels so feminine (very Audrey Hepburn in Funny Face). Loeffler Randall is the queen of the pointy toe flats. They have so many adorable options – like this polka dot pair. How do you feel about the point? Yay or nay?

DESIGNER LOVE: KATIE ERMILIO

Swoon. These pieces from designer Katie Ermilio are nothing short of outstanding. I’ve been eyeing her designs for a couple of seasons now, and they just keep getting better and better. Ermilio focuses on classic silhouettes, each with a distinctly feminine vibe. Her dresses remind me of those from the ’50s – elegantly tailored with just the right amount of glam. (This bright blue peplum number is calling my name.) Shopbop carries a few of her pieces, but I have a feeling before long we’ll be seeing her designs all over the place.

ONE OF EACH, PLEASE: SARA BELTRAN POUCHES

They just scream summer, don’t they? These graphic pouches are part of the latest offerings from Dezso designer Sara Beltrán. Accented by a fluorescent orange zipper, the pouches are just the right size for toting around a swimsuit and some SPF. Or throw your nighttime essentials in, and carry it as an evening clutch! (Multipurpose? Check!). In other words, these pouches make the perfect summer traveling companion.

WHAT I LOVE RIGHT NOW

EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS HOUSE

These photos of Amanda Peet’s home in this month’s Vogue have already made their way around the blogosphere, but I had to post them anyway! I keep a binder with tears from mags that I look to for inspiration (most of them are more “future” inspiration), and these images have made their way to very front of the book. I love everything about the Hollywood Hills home: the whitewashed walls, the Spanish-style exterior, and seriously… that outdoor space?! My favorite part is the eating area/living room above. I adore the banquette seating (and all of the mixed prints that come with it!) and the use of color throughout. The room is so open and gives off such a welcoming, comfortable vibe. It’s safe to say that this is my dream home. Check out more pictures on Vogue

WALLIS DOTS

Wallis Shirt
I’ve already professed my love for polka dots to you all (it’s just such a fun, whimsical print!), so, you can imagine my delight when this lovely arrived in my mailbox last week from Luella & June’s newest sponsor, Wallis. This spotted top has already worked its way into my weekend wear. The dots are just the right size, and the black and white color combination means I can mix it with any colors I please (these neon jeans seem to work quite well). My favorite detail is actually the length. It’s short enough to belt over shorts or denim, but long enough that it can easily double as a pool coverup. I would say I’ve got a new summer staple on my hands here.
