Welcome to a new series on Luella & June. There are so many amazing bloggers/artists/boutique owners/ designers, etc. that inspire me, and I wanted to have a place to share them with all of you. So, that’s what I hope Style Notes will be – a (fun) peek into the lives of some seriously fabulous people.  I’m thrilled to kick off the series with none other than the Design Darling herself, Mackenzie Horan. Not only is Mackenzie one of my favorite bloggers, but she’s also a contributor to Matchbook Magazine and the owner of Design Darling – The Boutique. (Where does she find the time?) Read on to learn more about this talented lady! And don’t forgot to check out her shop!

So, what do you think? I would love to hear your thoughts on this new series!

Just in time for all of this gorgeous spring weather! Shopbop is hosting a Friends and Family sale until tomorrow evening. Take 20% off any order! Just enter the code INTHEFAMILY20 at checkout. (I wish I had known about this yesterday when I was buying a new pair of white jeans… oh well, I’m sure there’s something I forgot to add to my cart.) Start shopping right here

Tucker makes some of my very favorite blouses. Not only are they really comfortable, but I always adore the print and color combinations. The best part, though, is that they’re super versatile. One blouse will take you lots of places, giving you a bang for your buck. I’ve been eyeing this bright yellow one (I told you I’ve really been this color lately!), and I think I might have to add it to my shopping cart today. It’s the perfect spring/summer blouse, and I know I’ll wear it a million different times. What do you think?

Happy Friday! I’m hoping the weather stays exactly like it’s been the last few weekends here in Dallas – 80 degrees and sunny! I’ve never been very fond of the color yellow, but over the last few months it has really grown on me. (Maybe it has something to do with all of the neon influence lately?) I decided to incorporate the color in everything from my top to my bag. I picked up this shirt at Forever 21 about a month ago. It’s perfectly lightweight for these warmer days. (I also love this Alice & Olivia pastel version.) I’ve been wearing these Steve Madden platforms about three times a week. They go with just about everything, and I know they’ll be in heavy rotation for the rest of the season.

I know it’s Thursday, and I had a great “What I Love Right Now” post planned for today. However, I just couldn’t wait to post these pictures from last night’s Kelly Wearstler event at Dallas’ Forty Five Ten. What a fun night! The event marked the official debut of Wearstler’s RTW and home collections in the store. Every single piece is amazing! (Literally – every. single. piece.) I adore her clutches – Wearstler herself was carrying a black one – especially the black-on-ivory water snake version. The home accessories are just as glam – and quirky –  in person as you’d expect. My favorite piece? The brass foot. I think it belongs in my living room, no? Of course, the best part of the night was meeting the designer herself. I even managed to snap a picture with her. Check out these pictures for a peek into the store. If you’re in Dallas, be sure to head over to Forty Five Ten to check it out for yourself!
A peek at a few of the amazing home accessories – including a limited-edition mini version of Hue. I bought a signed copy, and it’s now living on my bookshelf in my office.
My quick picture with Wearstler! My face is a bit rosy – she makes me blush, what can I say? With Wearstler in mind, I opted for my color blocked Heidi Merrick top paired with a simple black mini and my new Jason Wu sandals. The other picture is with my adorable friend Meghan who works as a buyer for Forty Five Ten.
The brass foot! Please let him come live with me!
So many pretty baubles!
Three of my favorite people: Brian Bolke, owner of Forty Five Ten, alongside DJ Lucy Wrubel; and then my friend Alli on the right in her cute all white look.
I took this napkin home with me!

I’m always pinning images of dreamy beach houses. Wouldn’t it be nice to “summer” in a place like this? The bohemian spirit of the seventies inspired the design of this house on the coast of Malaga, Spain. The white linen sectional offers ample seating for guests, but allows for full potential of the view. What a perfect room! Take a look at the rest of the house below.

Like I said before, I’ve got quite a few weddings coming up this season. I’ve been browsing around for a little look inspiration. This Thread Social dress caught my eye immediately. I absolutely love the silhouette, and this print is just too perfect for a spring wedding. (Oh – and it’s on major sale at The Outnet!) I’m all about embracing color for spring weddings, but if you’re not into all of the brights, take a peek at this Tibi dress. It’s the perfect LBD – plus, it’s a dress you can wear all year long. So, how many weddings do you all have coming up? I hope this roundup is helpful!
