Last night the stars hit the ultimate red carpet for the 83rd Annual Academy Awards. It was certainly a glamorous night and there were plenty of sartorial standouts. There was no lack of color on the red carpet with Jennifer Hudson in bright tangerine and Mila Kunis in a dreamy lavender. The color of the night, though, was red, red, red. Sandra Bullock and Anne Hathaway looked stunning in the vivid hue. I really loved Michelle Williams in Chanel. I think her entire look was a home run: the super blonde pixie cut, romantic makeup, and beaded dress made for an incredibly striking red carpet appearance. While there were certainly dresses that I liked (much) less than others, I didn’t feel that there were any major misses this time around. There were details I would have changed here and there though. For instance, Amy Adams: loved her dress but wish she would have left that necklace at home. And Jennifer Lawrence: the minimalist red dress worked for her but she needed to glam it up a bit with some statement jewels. Do you agree? I want to hear your thoughts! Did you have any red carpet favorites?

I so miss the days of Polaroid film – the saturated colors and darkened edges. I love the way it provided instant gratification and captured the moment so perfectly. If you share the same sentiments for Polaroids then you’ll enjoy this book just as much as I do. The Polaroid Book highlights the history of the film and features over 400 works from the Polaroid Collection. It’s basically page after page of really cool polaroids! This would make a gift for any of your photographer friends – or for yourself!
