Book It: The Fashion File

Mad Men may be over for now (what did you all think of Sunday’s finale?), but the sartorial wonder of that show will continue to play over and over in my mind. If you, too, can’t get enough of the fabulous wardrobe of the Mad Men cast then this is the book for you: The Fashion File. Written by Mad Men‘s costume designer Janie Bryant, the book offers us a peek inside the show’s dressing room and lets us in on the design process for each of the characters’ looks. Bryant also offers helpful tips on where to snatch the best vintage clothing and accessories. The book doesn’t just focus on the show’s leading ladies, there’s also a section dedicated to the style secrets of Don Draper (yes, please).

Tastemaker: Elizabeth Showers

We asked one of our favorite jewelry designers, Elizabeth Showers, about her current favorite local spots and fall favorites. Elizabeth unveiled that her passion for jewelry came at age 5, sitting with her grandmother at the kitchen table. Her mother, interior decorator Jan Showers, was another inspiration. The duo have an eye for color and design that has set them apart in the creative world. Elizabeth is also excited to unveil her 2010 Fall/Holiday collections online, as well as in luxury stores across the nation — what do you love?

Shop It: Decades (2.1)

The e-commerce world just keeps getting better and better this week. Los Angeles-based vintage shop Decades relaunches its online shop TODAY. Just like its storefront, Decadestwo1 will offer the best of the best in vintage finds – including a bevy of Chanel bags! One of the best parts of this shopping experience is that the site will now provide you with the story behind the vintage garb! I’m always wondering where the items come from and now we’ll know! The site has been updated with some outstanding features including the ability to shop by designer, by category, or even by price (not to mention, there’s an “Under $300″ section with some amazing steals). Shop It: Club Monaco on Shopbop!

Happy day! For those of us who have wished that Club Monaco was available online, our day has arrived. Beginning TODAY, Club Monaco will be sold online exclusively at Shopbop. The 30-piece capsule collection, chosen by Shopbop’s fab fashion director Kate Ciepluch, contains everything from jewelry to tailored blazers to shorts, and will range in price from $24 for thigh-highs to $1,100 for a shearling coat. NARS Vintage

The transition from summer to fall brings lots of changes to one’s look, including the switch from those bright, beachy nail polishes to richer, darker lacquers. Good thing NARS has just launched their limited edition Vintage Nail Polish Collection. The 5 metallic lacquers, which range in color from a deep navy to an army green to an icy blue, are named after iconic films: Full Metal Jacket, Zulu, Midnight Express, King Kong and MASH. Perfect for fall! The names aren’t the only vintage thing about the lacquers, the polishes themselves are originally from the ’90s and have been resurrected from the NARS archives (wouldn’t you love to see what’s in their “archives”?) for a limited run. Oldies but goodies!

Fall Wardrobe Staple: Rain Boots

The temperature has finally dropped just enough to make me believe that fall really is here! This means I have started to pull out all of my fall wardrobe staples, including my rain boots. Your shoes (especially your suede ones) really take a beating when it comes to rainy days, and wellies are certainly a fashionable solution. They’re super chic and functional too!
