Looking to add some pop to your summer ensemble? Check out these woven cross-body bags made by the women of Wayuu and distributed by the Wayuu Taya Foundation. The Wayuu community – located in the Guajira region between Venezuela and Colombia – is being threatened with urban migration, and 65% of the proceeds from the sales of these gypset-style bags goes to funding health service, child care and educational programs for the community. Check out Katy Perry toting her own version around at Coachella! While the price tag may seem a bit steep at $140 per bag, it’s important to know that each bag is handmade and takes one Wayuu woman over 160 hours to complete. Not only are the bohemian satchels totally adorable, but they’re functional too! You can fit everything you need in there to take you from day to night. Pick one up for yourself right here.
For the dog with discerning taste, not just any collar will do. I’ve met my fair share of fashionable canines, but Ella Dish‘s bright collar and leash designs are just about as cute as they come. How great are these patterns?
Miu Miu unites fashion’s (current) four favorite blondes in their amazing Fall/Winter 2010 campaign. Dynamic duo Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott captured Linsey Wixson, Siri Tollerod, Ginta Lapina and Daphne Groenveld in Miu Miu’s ultra-feminine, embellished frocks that we’ll be seeing come fall. The quirky, schoolgirl-esque quality to the clothing screams Blair Waldorf to me – what do you think?
I was browsing through Tory Burch’s blog this afternoon and came across the “Tastemakers’ Summer Reading List.” Everyone from the top magazine editors (read: Nina Garcia, Meredith Melling Burke, and Sally Singer) to photographers to chef Mario Batali weighs in on what they’re planning to read this summer in this comprehensive list. Thought I would share my own list with you!
