LOVE: Zara May 2010 Lookbook

Bright whites? Check. Breezy fabrics? Check. Denim? Check. You will find all of the essential elements of a summer wardrobe at Zara stores come May. The store’s most recent lookbook was just released, and I can’t get enough of all of the fabulous items. There’s so much to love here – especially that khaki shift dress! If you’re looking for on-trend pieces with price tags that won’t break the bank, Zara is certainly the place to go. I know where I’ll be on May 1st – and after you look through this lookbook, I’m thinking you’ll be there too.
Love it?

Editorial: Hotel Happy

Model Hana Soukupova is the latest model to grace the cover of Tatler Russia for the magazine’s May issue. The blonde bombshell works it out in Chanel Haute Couture, Dior and Valentino in this hotel editorial. Photographed by – one of my very favorites – Arthur Elgort and styled by Anya Ziourova, this glamourous editorial captures the meaning of traveling in style.

LOVE that luggage!

Trend Report: Bring on the Brights!

Chanel’s Summer 2010 makeup collection, appropriately titled “Les Pop-Up de Chanel,” is the perfect pop for the summer season. The glosses and lipsticks are the just the right amount of punch for a summer spent by the pool. My favorite item? The nail polishes, of course. Arriving online and in boutiques next week, this limited edition lacquer set is a total knock out. Available in three brilliant colors - Nouvelle Vague, Riviera, and Mistral – these perfect polishes just scream summer. Bring on the brights!
I think my favorite pick might be the Nouvelle Vague – a perfect Tiffany blue for summer, right? What’s your favorite?

LOVE: Fenton/Fallon for J.Crew

When J. Crew’s Creative Director Jenna Lyons met Fenton/Fallon jewelry designer Dana Lorenz she knew it was a match made in (fashion) heaven: “We met a dinner party. We couldn’t stop talking.” One thing led to another and voilà! An instant must-have collection is born.

The seven-piece limited edition collection – which is in J. Crew stores and online now – concentrates on chunky, edgy-chic pieces by mixing reworked industrial metals. The statement pieces, which range in price from $95 to $295, are the perfect blend of Fenton/Fallon’s rock ‘n’ roll-glam style and J.Crew’s laid-back elegance. Love it!

Obsessed with this bracelet!

Trend Report: Spring Stripes

Remember when we talked about stripes back in September? It looks like they’re still around in a big way for spring. The seaworthy style is the perfect laid back look for the season.  Whether you’re sporting a stripe dress or packing on stripe bangles, this is a trend with longevity.

Editorial: Theory of Evolution

Captured by Carter Smith at the American Museum of Natural History, May’s Elle gives us a look at the season’s best couture gowns. Starring Olga Sherer (remember her from Marc Jacobs’ Fall 2009 ad campaign?) with styling by Mario Grauso, “Theory of Evolution” takes on gowns from the likes of Valentino, Armani, Dior, and, of course, Chanel. I’m in love with this spread – not to mention totally obsessed with that black tulle Dior Hatue Couture gown. Such an elegant editorial!
