We experienced our first taste of fall last weekend. There was a slight chill in the air and it made me so excited for sweater weather. (So excited, in fact, that I ran right out and bought this.)
Since Texas has such unpredictable weather (80 degrees one day and then 40 the next), having a variety of different sweaters is important. For something lighter, I rely on J.Crew’s cashmere tees. They’re excellent for layering and the quality can’t be beat. (If you’re looking for cashmere, I’ve also become a big fan of Equipment’s Sloan sweater.) If I need something a little warmer, this plush knit is it. It’s the perfect in-between piece – not too heavy but still cozy. Since I wear leather leggings so much this time of year, I love having a few longer tunic-style knits. This one works and it’s under $100. Speaking of leather leggings, I’ve found that I need a few knits that can be easily dressed-up – especially during the holiday party season. This swingy sweater, for example, is one that will be on repeat. Finally, when it’s really chilly outside (or I just feel like getting extra cozy), I love a chunky turtleneck – something like this, this or this.
